UK visit visa holder applying for Schengen visa

Hi all,

I was told that UK visit visa holder in the UK can't apply for Schengen visa. Is it true?

My friend's parent having Srilanka passport with UK visit visa and wants to go to France for a visit.

Pls advice.

I think it has to be from somewhere u have residency - ie not just visiting.

French embassy will tolerate visitor visa status for applicants for shcnengen visa, however they have to have more than 3 or 4 months remaining in their visa. check the french embassy in london website it's all in there.
