Sorry for the simple question, but i just want to be 100% certain.

When asked for the photos along with the e-vetting letter, they are asking for the physical photos to be sent along with the NVB1(a) form to "E-Vetting Team, Citizenship CMUB, Department of Justice, Rosanna Road, Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary." right?

"... Please submit two coloured passport sized photos take within the past 30 days with your reference number on the back.
The Minister has requested an up-to-date Garda report in respect of your application. There is a new E-Vetting Digital Process now in place for Garda Vetting reports which replaces the old paper based system. Please complete the enclosed Garda Vetting Invitation Form and return within 28 days from the date of this letter to the following address: E-Vetting Team, Citizenship CMUB, Department of Justice, Rosanna Road, Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary. ..."
Don't have this line in my letter. Possibly copy pasting mishap.

Mine starts from "The Minister has requested an up-to-date Garda report in respect of your application."

Yep, brown envelope and no tracking, the usual way ISD folks dispatch their letters.

There's just no set timeline, unfortunately.

How do you know your application is being submitted or submitted to the minister? Do you have a correspondence letter? I also got the same letter in jan 2023 but its month of march and no sign of approval yet. E vetting disclosure was viewed in the month of feb.

Looks like some of the TD's might be getting some complaints from constituents about the disgraceful mismanagement of applications by the Department!

Check this out from The Dáil yesterday:

Hi all,

Is it normal to receive a 2nd e-vetting email with a new e-vetting application number in a period of 30 days. My previous e-vetting email was received on 2nd March 2023 and was successfully completed on 14th March 2023.
But received another email with new e-vetting application number today i.e. 29 March 2023 to complete in 30 days.

Hi all,

I sent back the paper evetting invitation form in mid February, but I have not heard back about the evetting link since then. Did anyone who posted the form around the same time receive the evetting link?

I had received E-Vetting invitation form on 14th February 2023(dated 10th February 2023) in the post. It was filled out and sent back same day with registered post and was received in Tipperary office next day i.e. 15th February 2023.

Hi lads,

While filling out the e vetting application, do we have to mention driving offences (nothing major, got a ticket for doing 55 kph in a 50 zone).

These penalty points were issued back in 2017 and come off the license before i applied for the citizenship, but they still stay on your record. I did mention this on the citizenship application and attached the driver statements issued by NDLS with the application.

Your advise will be highly appreciated.

Sorted: Sent an email to E-Vetting team and they have cancelled the duplicate e-vetting application. Confirmed by an email by e-vetting team.

Short answer NO.

You only get an email after completion. It takes about 5 to 10 working days to get the email

Okay, cheers. Im asking because I got an email after I submitted my application (that it awaits review by ISD) and was wondering if I need to check the progress at all or just wait for emails.

Does anyone know if the process for evetting has changed recently?
The reason I ask is, I submitted my application last year on 1st Feb 2022 based on 5 years non-EU stamp 1+stamp 4 residency. Got my acknowledgement letter only in July 2022. Since then I've been waiting for my evetting letter by post and email link.
However one of my friends who is the exact same case as mine applied this year on Feb 15 2023 and received both the acknowledgement letter as well as evetting form in March 2023 and he has completed the evetting process already.
Makes no sense to me what's going on and why applications aren't being processed in chronological order.
Just wondering if they're now sending out evetting form with acknowledgement letter for everyone?

They seem to do that for '23 applications, see the timelines.

It is a massive scam. I wouldn't be surprised if INIS has to meet some KPI's and is "tweaking the figures" or "massaging the numbers" to make it look like they are doing more.

Makes zero sense that they would do e-vetting so early! E-vetting is supposed to be towards the end of the process.

Clearly people have also noticed this, as a couple of weeks ago, a number of TD's asked the Minister for Justice about it. He refused to answer it at all! It is outrageous that they are processing 2023 applications way before they do 2021 and 2022 applications. The Minister was directly questioned about the e-vetting and didn't answer the question at all.

I think something fishy is going on at INIS, and the people who are suffering are 2021 and 2022 applicants. Why would you do e-vetting so early? Would be like doing it for a job you think you may get in 19 months!

Someone needs to email the Minister or their local TD's or get FOI to lift the lid on this scam!
