Waiting for CoS approval

My employer sent me mail on 14th December 2022, that my COS has been submitted till today 21st of April haven't receive my COS almost 5 months now please with those who got the experience is it normal? Because my employer keep telling me that it will be approve.

Sorry I am a little confused. If your employer issued a COS on the 14th December they could have given you the COS details for you to apply for your visa at that point.
Employers do not seek permission to issues a COS, they just do it. If the employer doesn’t have any CoS in hand then they apply for more. That can take up to 16 weeks. Perhaps that is the hold up?

OP probably stating that employer informed them of submitting application to get their COS in which case the delay since December could be that up to 18weeks wait you wrote.
