HMRC penality after submission

Post by jvjroop » Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:43 am

Hi all,
i have a query regarding HMRC penality. I received a late filing penality from HMRC (which i will pay immediately). I already submitted my naturalisation application in March, biometrics at the beginning of April. Will this be an issue?
Thank you

I don't think it's an issue.

It's just a late filling and they issue an automatic fine for that. It was about £150 last time I check. I am not sure it's still the case.

Indeed, you don't need to contact the Home Office and tell them.

No, you don't inform the Home Office about this. Your application has been already submitted. You are not supposed to keep updating the HO as things happen in your life.
