Change Stamp2(English course) to Stamp1(work permit)

Post by tugii20 » Sat Apr 29, 2023 9:46 pm

Hi

Anyone done this route before - Change Stamp2 (the person is studying an English course in Ireland) to Stamp1 (work permit- restaurant owner is sponsoring person or offered by work permit visa based on chef work)

Anyone done that or is that possible?

Technically, there is no legal impediment from this - https://www.irishimmigration.ie/registe ... ermission/
If you are issued with an Employment Permit by Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment, you may apply for a Stamp 1
https://enterprise.gov.ie/en/what-we-do ... t-permits/
Non-EEA nationals holding valid immigration permission, who have been offered employment in an eligible occupation will be allowed to apply for an Employment Permit whilst already legally resident in the State. The non EEA national must hold a valid immigration stamp namely, Stamps 1, 1A, 2, 2A and 3 immigration permissions.
The main obstacle would be to get an employment permit - chef isn't in Critical Skills list, so LMNT and so on applies.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.
