I have two questions before applying on behalf of my husband spouse visa extension firstly:
I will sponsoring him as I am employed full time and I meet the financial requirement. We now have a British born child who is 2 years old.
When receiving decision letter it states - "Your sponsor is not entitled to claim or receive public funds on your behalf.
1. Am I allowed to claim Child benefit? Yes It will show on my bank statements. If so I will stop receiving straight away, going forward so my 6 months banks statements reflect this.
2. Because we now have a British child is the financial requirement still £18,600? Correct
Thankyou.
You can receive it yourself. You cannot receive it as your spouse, because, as you quoted, "Your sponsor is not entitled to claim or receive public funds on your behalf". You still should notify relevant authorities, though - see post2113602.html#p2113602
You can receive CB in both circumstances. You have to be receiving it all in your own right.dinibhudia wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 10:55 pmI’m not getting this at all.
So I can receive child benefit as I am British. However as I am sponsoring my spouse…. I cannot??
