Please help. Adequate accomodation question.

Post by ray_of_li » Wed May 17, 2023 3:43 pm

Hello everyone,

My 5 years spouse visa will end next year. For ILR I had a question with regards to adequate accommodation.

My wife and kids are British. Kids are 11 and 12 years old. Currently we live as tenants in a 3 bed house and what we realised was that even though it's 3 bed house one of the small room is less than 50 square feet.

We do have a big living room downstairs which is open plan (without doors). Spam and bathroom are separate rooms with doors.

Will this fulfill the requirements for adequate accommodation? Or should we start looking to move?

Many thanks.

There is no requirement to prove adequate accommodation for ILR as you did for spouse visa

It's fine.

Thanks for the reply.

For my information if it was an extension application will it be ok? As the living room is bigger than 50 square feet.

Many thanks.
