Husband missing.....married for love, not status

Post by Joanne12 » Tue Apr 27, 2004 5:32 pm

I need some help. I married my husband after three years of dating and now it is over after only 6 months. He has left and I have no forwarding address, I want to get a divorce, but I do not want to cause him any trouble because of his status. I am not sure how to do this, does anyone know the safest way to go about this? I am sincere .

This is going to be highly dependent on the laws of your state, but your state almost certainly has procedures for divorcing in the case of abandonment. I would strongly recommend getting a lawyer to assist you. If you can't afford a lawyer or just want to get more information, the courts in your state probably provide information and assitance services.
