3yrs plus 5yrs Visa ?

Hi,

I have completed 3yrs on Tier 2 general/ skilled worker visa and got decision of other 3yrs valid until March 2026. But now I am changing jobs and new employer has issued CoS for 5yrs and asked me to apply for 5 yrs. Will I get visa granted for 5yrs (3yrs + 5yrs) or will I get visa until March 2026(3yrs + 3yrs) .i have already paid IHS for 5yrs , will I get a refund if visa is granted only upto march 2026(3yrs +3yrs) .

You'll get a new visa for 5 years as that is what the CoS states.

You have to pay IHS again for 5 years if your CoS is 5 years. You can request a refund of the overlapping period.

Does that mean I will have a total of 8yrs and should apply for refund after I am eligible for ILR ? Or over lap between my current 3yr visa and 5 yr visa

Once you have the new visa, request a refund of the overlapping ihs.

ILR has nothing to do with this
