A question about a reckonable period

Post by khaledfox » Mon Jun 05, 2023 4:06 pm

Hi everyone,
I have an inquiry, and I really hope you can help me and answer it.

I am planning to apply for Irish citizenship via “Naturalisation Residency.” by 15/06/2024

-The first year is from 12/10/2018 till 11/10/2019 (exclude 13 days outside Ireland)

-The Second year from 12/10/2019 till 11/10/2020 (exclude 17 days outside Ireland)

-From 12/10/2020 till 11/10/2021, I stayed in Ireland from 06/02/2021 till 26-09/2021 (233 days in Ireland)

-Here is the question: Can I add this period to my Reckonable time?

From what I see, it can be added. But I am hesitant, and I would like you to have a good look and confirm it, please.
The result of the calculator is as below total (1942 days):
***********************************************************************
-Oldest stamp 12/10/2018 -11/10/2019 365 days

-2nd stamp 12/10/2019- 11/10/2020 366 days

-3rd stamp 06/02/2021 - 26/09/2021 233 days <<<<<<<<<<<this is my question

-4th stamp 12/10/2021- 11/10/2022 365 days

-5th stamp 12/10/2022 -15/06/2024 613
***********************************************************************
-The fourth year from 12/10/2021 till 11/10/2022 (exclude 35 days outside Ireland)

-The fifth-year from 12/10/2022 till 15/06/2024 (exclude 18 days outside Ireland).
This last period includes the full 365 required stays in Ireland plus the total period I stayed outside Ireland.

Kind regards

Why not?
It's one year just before the application plus "4 years out of last 8 years" (and all the absences, of course).

Thank you for the reply.
The issue that I am confused about is the third year that I mentioned.
I don't know how to put it in the form 8 or if it will be accepted.
:(

If you're unsure, you can wait until another full year (till October 2024), so you have 5 full years besides the one you're unsure about. You can use any 4 years out of 8, plus one you have just before applying. Source: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-cont ... cument.pdf

Keep in mind things might change a lot in a year.

Also, just to be safe, what stamp were you on throughout the years?

Hello.
Unfortunately, I think I will go for the safest option that you mention and wait till 12/10/2024.

My stamps are: stamp 1g, stamp 1, then from 2021 i got stamp 4 EUfam.

Many thanks
