just to be sure, they don't take the money out immediately, do they? or they do it whenever they send a receipt? They haven't taken my 950 yet.

My money was pending (frozen) a couple of days and then it was deducted, don't worry about that - as it submitted, all good

It's a bank holiday, no wonder.

Hoping that my wife would get a response from citizenship dpt about fixing the issue with her middle name missing on the approval letter. She emailed them when the approval letter was received 15th May, and a few times since then. Each time an automated response is sent, one time, around two weeks ago a person sent an email saying the matter was sent along to the 'relevant area' After emailing them once again the other day they sent this last hour....

I can confirm that the Division has engaged in concentrated effort to process and complete all cases that remain outstanding for a considerable period of time. Please be assured that we will revert immediately once a decision has been reached on the application. Your patience in this matter is appreciated.

Please note I acknowledge receipt of your correspondence and have forwarded it to the relevant area. This office will be in touch with you in due coursein regarding your middle name
Regards

We have not had to wait as long as many others have, would have been nice to make one trip to Killarney and receive citizenship at same event, long road from Louth....

I understand the frustration (nervous myself), but at this time it might just be the workers' capacity issue. Hopefully it'll gets sorted!
It's the first time they use online invitations for such a large scale ceremony - would hope they would be able to invite people up until it's, like, a week before the date with this new flexibility.

Have you considered the situation where your wife gets an invitation whole there's no clarity about middle name, would you go? Since they send certificates way after the ceremony now, I'd try it, if that's how it turns out, but up to you.

Not even a receipt or money taken. I'll update the board if it happens.
I regret my decision to give them a virtual bank card..

My money was taken in Mid Feb 2023 and acknowledgement issued!
I am not sure if a virtual account like Revolut is a problem. Other side has a choice of not taking the money out for any reason.

Ouch! Honestly, as that's the second ceremony you could be missing (or were you invited to one in March, RDS?), I would send an email to ISD enquiring about your status, as it just seems like your application has fallen through the cracks.

Coming back to the RDS ceremony as the only online invites' case study, there are reports about being invited to a ceremony less than 2 weeks away from the date, eg post2106429.html#p2106429 or post2106655.html#p2106655 , but it might be easier for smaller one to facilitate. Nevertheless, as they don't have to print certs in advance, I would hope that makes inviting process way less complicated, like just adding a name in the list, giving them chances to invite more folks.
Once again, it's just the doubts.

Also, I wish (to even be there)!

The first stage out of 4; I saved it at the last step of the form as I needed to take a picture (so it doesn't resent while I'm away) and I guess it didn't go through when the button was clicked.

I might've accidentally ruined my own chances. Have to fill it out when I'm back at the PC.

Paid the fee (and made a misspelling in passport number, I keep making this harder for myself); got an acknowledgement email instantly. Is that the receipt you mention?

We have chances still!
