just to let you know i have received my GRant letter with recourse to public funds,still waiting for biomatric cards.
home office is taking too long i dont know why

Screening interview February 2019
Substantive Interview February 2023
Homeoffice asked me to do my biometrics before or after the main interview. I did it in February 2023 after 2 days of my interview.
Its been more than 10 weeks i am waiting for the Homeoffice to give their decision.

Just to advise you that my application for asylum has been granted under the right to private life. I received a BRP today. They put me on the 10 year settlement root. Finally, I have my life back after 22 years. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Does anyone know how long it takes generally between getting your claim prioritised by the Home Office and receiving a decision? I know all cases are unique but if anyone has a general idea maybe based on experience, it would help.

My fresh claim application will be 2 years next month. I emailed the home office and they replied saying they will make a decision within 6 months or earlier if it allows them. My son recently registered as British and my solicitor sent them the registration certificate and also asking them to make a decision. They have now again replied that my case is now being prioritised. If anyone here had their case prioritised, can I ask how long it took before they got a decision from the home office?
Can't wait till all this is over... been too long

Timeline and Processing pace differs. Be on it and keep regular enquiry on progress even if this does not hasten it

Yes I know timing differs with each case, just wanted to hear others' experience.

Hi everyone, Sadly my appeal was dismissed. But I got 14 days of appeal rights. I am so exhausted and tired. I don't know whether it's worth it or any point of appealing. I feel the upper tribunal won't change the decision of the lower tribunal. what is your experience?

Hello.. I have a question. Has anyone ever received a BRP without getting a decision letter? I just missed a delivery from TNT, when I went to reschedule it, it was written Biometric Residence Permit as the contents of the delivery. I haven't received a decision letter though.
Is it really a BRP or maybe just a replacement ARC? I'm so nervous and don't want to get my hopes to high then get disappointed..

I got the BRPs today with my visa granted. But I'm yet to receive the decision letter.

My timeline:

May 2021 - Asylum applied
June 2021 - First interview
Early February 2023 - Biometric given
Late February 2023 - I received another letter saying I missed my main interview. But I didn't get any letters for the main interview. Then, I responded within 5 days, explaining.
Late July 2023 - Main interview letter received
August 2023 - Main Interview
December 2023 - Email received saying BRP will deliver via Royal mail
December 2023 - BRP was received with Asylum granted.

I'm still waiting for my decision letter. But it's a big relief as I finally got status.

Position grounds decision are given to people who have human trafficking claim at another home office department called NRM.
With that decision, if you have any pending asylum claim it helps you to receive a good decision as soon as possible.
If I may ask when did you submit your fresh claim?

Hi There, please advise. My cousin’s visa was about to expire and she claimed asylum and her screening interview is due end of this month. She has two children with valid leave to remain in the country with her ex.
Qn: 1:After screening interview,is she provided with accommodation? 2: Will having kids maybe help her asylum case? 3: Can home office consider to provide accommodation to her which is close to where her children live as she has to help take them to school or HO doesn’t care. Hello BMDNL1,

1. After the Screening interview, she can apply for asylum support. That has to be done through https://www.migranthelpuk.org/. She can call them, and they will be helpful.
HO will request the relevant documentation, such as bank statements if she got any, how she has lived so far, who supported her, etc, and she has to provide information such as if she is no longer able to get that support, etc. Then, they will review and offer her support accordingly.

2. Having kids directly may not affect the asylum case. It mostly depends on the reason she applied for asylum. But for example, if the case is being refused, they consider other factors such as private and family life, etc. (I'm not a legal professional. Please take legal advice on this, and you will find more information)

3. If she requests the accommodation and they approve it, she will get the accommodation, too. But I'm not sure if they consider other factors (living close by children etc) when they allocate the accommodation.

Hello everyone,
My appeal in the First-tier Tribunal was refused on asylum grounds but it was allowed on human rights grounds Article 8.
Unfortunately, the Home Office decided to appeal and asked the First-tier Tribunal for permission to appeal to the Upper Tribunal three weeks ago.
I don't know if there is any chance that the Home Office don't get that permission and in case they get it, do I have any chance to win in the Upper Tribunal? I am so anxious and distressed. Does anyone have a similar experience? Thank you.
