Travel to India passport nearly expiring

Dear members,

My wife has indian passport with ILR. Her passport expiring in sep 23.

1. Can she travel in Late july and come back to UK on same passport?

2. Or shall I apply for her British citizenship?

Yes as long as the passport is valid on UK arrival day.

2. Or shall I apply for her British citizenship?
If she satisfies all requirements she can apply of course but won't help you with travel plans as the application will take generally between 2 to 6 months, or even longer in some cases. UKVI service delivery target is 6 months.
