Minimum working hours

Post by kamalahasang » Mon Jul 10, 2023 3:29 pm

Hi All,

Current skilled worker Visa CoS was for 37.5 hours. During the Skilled Worker Visa extension, can the working hours be reduced to 30 hours (with its corresponding salary) in the extension CoS? Will this be treated as part-time?

Thanks

As per the "skilled worker caseworker guidance" document (below), there are no minimum hours for shortage occupation.

"Unlike under Tier 2 (General), there is no minimum number of weekly hours for shortage occupations in the Skilled Worker route, providing the relevant general salary threshold requirements are met and the ‘going rate’ salary requirements are met when pro-rated"

In my case, the occupation code not is no in the shortage occupation list. Will the above statement apply for all occupation codes or just the shortage occupations only?

Response would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

For the skilled worker visa extension, do we have to fill up separate application form for the dependent child or can it be included in the main applicants form?

Thanks

Two applicants, two separate forms.

Hi,

1) In the application form, for the question, "Since you started living in the UK, Where did you spend time outside the UK for more than 2 weeks?"
Should this include travels to the home country and Europe as well?

2) Later, there is a question "How many times have you visited the following places in the past 10 years?
• Australia • Canada • New Zealand • USA • Switzerland • European Economic Area (do not include travel to
the UK)"
If the Europe travels are included in the Question 1 above, do we have to include the travel details again here?

3) World travel history, Have you been to any other countries in the past 10 years? Do not include visits to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland or the European Economic Area.
Do we have to include travels to the home country? Also if the details are already included in Question 1 above do we have to repeat it?

Thanks

Thanks @AmazonianX

1) Current Tier 2 General CoS(expiring in 45 days) is for 37.5 hours in occupation code 3545. The new CoS is for 30 hours for the same occupation code 3545.
Will the reduction in working hours will be of any issue?

2) Going rate for occupation code 3545 - £35,100 (£18.00 per hour) for 37.5 hours/week. For 30 hours it equates to £18 X 30 hours X 52 weeks = £28,080. The salary in the current CoS is £27,000 and in new CoS it is £28,500.
I hope the salary is fine. Please confirm.

Thanks
