Not sure why you think this. There is no requirement for ilr to have been physically in the UK at the start of the 5 years.Do we both have to apply on the date/day when we were in the UK 5 years ago (I presume this is necessary due to the start of the counting of five years of continuous residence in the UK?)

I was actually eligible to apply for ILR already in April this year, but I will be applying only in the beginning of August so I've asked my employer to confirm my absences from August 2018, not April 2018. Do you think that's OK?
