Hi Gbc,

The VAF9 is available at http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/ ... 03073/vaf9
I've one, which can be filled using computer, but that is little older. Use the one which is at the above location and fill it with hand.

Thank you

URGENT - NEED ADVICE

Post by ConfusedIndian » Thu Dec 04, 2008 12:05 am

Hello all,

I am applying for Tier-1 (General) within the UK.
Mine's a slightly complicated case in the previous earnings section.

I have worked in 3 countries in the last 1 year and have to provide the bank statements from 3 different bank accounts for the last 12 months.

I have received a constant Indian salary + allowances when I was in the US and the UK.

The details are as follows:
Dec-07 to Jan-08 : US
Feb-08 to Aug-08 : India
Sep-08 to Nov-08 : UK

Now my question is:

What is the exchange/conversion rate I should apply, for the salaries I received in India?
ie. should I use the 31-Jan-08 OANDA rate for the period I was in the US; 31-Aug-08 OANDA rate for for the period I was in India(and uplift); 30-Nov-08 OANDA rate for the for the period I was in the UK?

OR

Should I use the 30-Nov-08 OANDA rate for the entire Indian salary, since I am submitting the application on 03-Dec-08?

Thank you for all your help and advice.

@ConfusedIndian
Do call VFS and confirm about what exchange rate you could use.
I was told that the new form(nov2008) is to be used.

Applied on 3rd December 2008

Post by aagrawal » Sun Dec 14, 2008 7:15 am

I have applied on 3rd decmber for tier 1 general visa....through VFS Ahmedabad...status is same "Documents are forwarded to BHC 3/12/08"

The lady at the VFS told me that its gonna take 20 days to process the documents...

A strange thing happened in between... i use to check my status every morning and evening by SMS... on 13th december in morning the status showed me "Sorry, invalid country code/passport number, please provide us correct information for your application to be process"... to be sure i had again sent SMS and got the same status again... since it was Saturday i could not do anything as VFS office and help lines are closed...so was waiting for monday... but in afternoon i had again sent a SMS but this time the status was again "Documents forwarded to BHC"... i guess it must be a SMS system "gliche" or so... anyways i have checkedo website of VFS also ...the status si "Documents forwarded to BHC..."

i have checked the photocopies of documents that i have submitted... didnt find any error in passport number...

Anybody got similar experience...

Just counting days...

Looks like due to VFS problems, even blr and hyderabad applications processing time lines have gone up. I dont think they update the status on the VFS site.

Could you tell me, from where did you get the reoprt on integrascreen? Also, on which mail id did you write to BHC? The email address mentioned on the receipt - gives only std reply (about the application procedure) and nothing on the status of application.

Guys, can any1 help?
