Post by john202b » Tue Jul 11, 2023 11:47 am

hello everyone,
can I still use council tax bill as proof of residency if it's on my partner's name. because you can't have two name on council tax bill. and what about tenancy agreement by letting agency, will HO accept it.

thank you very much

Why do you believe that?? You can have multiple names on council tax. My council tax has 3 names on.

Are you an EU citizen or came through the EU family member route?

Please don't tag onto other members' threads - stay in your own thread (this one now) and continue posting here. This will allow for easier moderating.

Documents should have your name on it. Do you have any other official type documents, such as P60, HMRC communications, DWP/Pensions, etc? If all else fails use your contract. You need minimum one document per year to cover the residency period.

Hello everyone,
If the documents I’ll send as proof of residency is not enough then will the caseworker contact me and ask for more evidence or just reject the application?
Thank you very much

By definition, no, as your passport will not have stamps for all exits and entries between the UK and the EU.

You would need some other forms of government issued documentation, such as council bills, P60s, etc.

The onus is on the applicant to provide, not on the caseworker to chase.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I have one more question regarding good character, in October 2021 I got a speeding fine and took awareness course on feb 2022. There is no point on my driving licence. Do I need to declare it?
Thanks a lot

Declare, won't have adverse impact on your application.

There's a part of the form that allows you to declare FPN's.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

If you don't have anything else official then go with the HMRC employment history. If UKVI need anything else they will contact you. You could perhaps also attach your tenancy agreement though it's normally official type documents that are requested.

Hi all, I have a quick question, I got eu settled status as a family member on September 27 last year. And I’ll be eligible for naturalisation this year on September 28. My daughter (10 years old eu citizen)got settled status on October 18 last year. So my question is that can we apply together on 28th September? Or she need to wait full 12 months after getting the settled status? I’m in hurry because the fees for naturalisation is going up from 4th October. Thank you very much!

You can apply together.

There is no 12 month wait period for children
