It's not something new. This has been there since a long time (atleast 1 month, because I have a copy of the guide downloaded 1 month ago).

As per the Tier General Guidance guide, paragraph 204 (i) page 35 - "Alternatively an electronic bank statement bearing the official stamp of the bank in question will be accepted. This stamp should appear on every page of the statement.".

This is valid both for Previous Earning as well as Maintenance Fund.

Just to clarify (and prevent a potential panic situation), a signature is not mandatory on the bank statements - just a stamp would do!!!

Also, this applies mainly to electronic bank statements (i.e. from online banking). Paper statements should be acceptable as they are.

or is it not BOTH "signed and stamped" ??

do you have a specific link for the new guidance? or paste.

Dear all,
Could you please clarify. We are in uk and we requested for bank statement from abn amro. They sent it in ABN amro stationary. It is a huge print out of all transactions in bank stationary. Will that be sufficient? We did not take a print out but rather Bank gave us a print out on a Bank stationary, with logo on the top. Do you think this is sufficient?

As per the guidelines below this should suffice.

Ad hoc bank statements printed on the bank’s letterhead are admissible as evidence (this excludes mini-statements from cash points).

no bank letter confirming printed/stamped statements are authentic?

guidances have discrepancies among sites and vary depending on date of update.... what's the latest scoop?

NYCStacey,
i think we should follow the Tier 1 general guidence pdf documents instead of content of the website.i think these documents are the 1st official copies that are bieng released by the home office and it may take time for updating the same on the website.

it is clearly evident that bankstatements proof has been relaxed by seeing the latest policy guidence.they are accepting the stamped bank statements.this point was not there in the guidence which i have downloaded last month.

yes, well, the PDF states:

For applications submitted outside of
the United Kingdom, all evidence must be
dated no more than seven days before the
application is submitted.

I thought this was changed to 1-month rather than 7-days.
But the PDF has not been changed. So how are we supposed to read this?
