Dependent Visa Extension - IHS Payment

Post by Pouf101 » Mon Jul 24, 2023 12:07 am

Hi there,

I've recently got ILR (2 days ago) and I am applying for my spouse's visa extension (he won't be eligible for ILR for another few years). This was an in-country application. We've submitted the application online, booked an appointment for biometrics for later this week, but we were not prompted to pay the IHS surcharge (although I know we have to pay it, I don't work in health care).

Any suggestion as to how I should proceed with this?

The application has an Immigration Health Surcharge Reference Number indicated on it which also says "(manual)" afterwards.

We also made a mistake on the application in that we answered "no" to the "has your spouse obtained ILR or citizenship" question because we started filling out his application while my ILR application was pending. We've addressed this in a cover letter but wonder whether it is linked.

Any suggestions most welcome.

Thank you!

I'm starting to think that we weren't prompted for it because my last grant of leave pre-ILR (skilled worker visa) would have expired within the next two weeks...

I'm thinking of just highlighting in the cover letter that we were not prompted to pay the IHS fees for the next years of extension sought, and hope that they get in touch to request it.

If it allows you to do so and submit then proceed as outlined
