IRP Renewal - Change of Permission

Post by handoubleu » Sat Jul 29, 2023 11:16 am

I received my approval letter that I have been moved to Stamp 4D and to renew my IRP online to reflect this.
1. There is no option for renew Stamp 4D, only Stamp 4, as well as, there is no correct corresponding “sub-category” i.e. de facto of UK National (non-EEA creates further drop downs which aren’t applicable as my partner doesn’t need permission to remain in Ireland).
2. I just renewed my Stamp 1G - has anyone had success in reimbursement for change/renewal permission when you recently renewed another? I imagine I am just out of luck but would be curious to know if I’ll need to shell out another €300 after having just done so
3. I have travel plans for this week which means my new IRP won’t arrive in time - can I still travel on my current IRP even though it doesn’t reflect the stamp change/technically my permission has changed? I was expecting the process to take almost a year which is why I assumed I would be fine to travel now.

I think Withdrawal Agreement Beneficiary is the one you need to go for, since that's how British nationals and their dependants' permissions are processed.

Highly doubt that - both permissions are valid and fulfil what they were given for (obvs if one was issued in error another one would be expected to be free); it's a pain but you have to pay up another 300. Did the same in the space of a month, so know your pain.

You're okay. Both give you permission to go to the country. Your 1G is still on the system and I assume it'll be your main permission till 4D IRP is approved.

So went ahead I applied this way but just spoke with someone else who said when they applied via Withdrawal Agreement Beneficiary (WAB) it got rejected bc the application/route didn’t charge them - it didn’t charge me either. So unsure it will go through and they’ll contact me for payment, or be rejected the same. Bit of a joke of them to not have a post-brexit method up and running at this point.

They refused and instructed as follows for those post brexit:

Post Brexit you application has a fee of 300€. In order to get to the payment page you need to do the following:
At the ‘Immigration permission’ section of the form – 1.18 ( permission type for renewal) - select the stamp 4
1.19 ( do any of these sub categories apply to you ) - select none of the above including defacto partner or adult dependant of an Irish citizen
1.20 ( is your permission dependant on your family member ) If it is select the option most relevant to you. Enter the family member’s name if requested. When you hit ‘next’, you will be brought to the document upload page.
Please upload all documents relevant to your permission, and hit next.
Confirm that you are resident in the state, and hit ‘submit form’.
This will bring you to the payment screen.
When your payment is processed, you will receive an email acknowledging the you have submitted your application.
Your application will then be processed pending approval, when we reach you in the queue.

They're making it confusing themselves imo - should've given several categories of WABs (with or without fee).
