Alas...another week's worth of visits from the postmen without a cert to show for it...I must email citizenship department and see if I could lend them some of my carry over pages from my HP instant ink plan, seems they've run out...

I got my certificate today as well, after 6 weeks, it is dated 9th of July tho, however another friend who got it last week had a certificate dated 11th of July. There is definitely a operational problem there..

I have contacted with Local td. He asked the minister and got same answer which her office replied me with same thing.. " in coming weeks"

I got call from Unknown Number( citizenship department) after address confirmation lady said " i am sending your post no worries and you will get it tomorrow or monday"

But of course nothing..

So thats a perfect system..

It's the Irish way!

When people tell me they will call back, it actually happens less than 10% of the time. Our TD tried but got ignored by them too.

How in the eart is possible you got call and confirm address and still nothing..

Is there any suggestion/idea ????

- contact to local TD
- contact to ministes office
- send email everyday
- reguest info with freedom of information act.
- contact to newspapers.

So I always got same copy paste answer also phone call with false/lie information.

Some candidates got already their passport but some of them waiting for certificate.

Thats a unique magnificent system and another ceremony will come in couple months.

Imagine the circus and chaos...

anyway is there anything we can do ?????

I attended the ceremony on June 20. Six weeks later to the day, I received my certificate. Applied for passport immediately. Fingers crossed that goes quickly.

Good luck everyone!

To those lucky ones that have received citizenship certificates, what is the date on the certificate? Does it match with the ceremony date that you attended, or is it more aligned with when you received it?

It will be interesting to know if those awaiting their certificates are counted as Irish citizens or not.

You are effectively an Irish citizen if you have attended the ceremony. The ceremony date is what is quoted on the certificate as the effective date.

Date of the certificate: 20th of Jun
Sign of correspondence (extra paper for the info): 9th of July
Stamp on the envelope: 28th of July

So there is almost 3 weeks between the ready certificate to be delivered and anpost stamp. I have another friend who has shorter time between sign of correspondence (14th July) and the delivery date (24th July). I assume there is a delay on the last stage which is just delivering the documents to anpost.

I have taken this up with a TD as I suspect that the Minister of Justice will count the date of the ceremony as the date of Naturalisation. This would misrepresent the length of time it is taking for the Naturalisation process to be concluded.

Still awaiting for mine ...so this week it will be 6 weeks done. Really at this stage do not have words to even show frustration to these ministers. How come they are not accountable in any shape or form to the public

My husband received his this morning.
I find it so strange that they have your address written on it, its not a permanent thing.
Especially those renting, they could change address frequently.

Don't think it matters, really - haven't heard of anyone being asked to change address on the cert.
Also that could explain the gap in timeline between address check and cert being sent - if you say you don't live there to address check and give a different address, would they have to reprint the whole cert?

No idea I'd say it just stays as it is, just an odd thing to print on it when it isnt permanent. No need really.
Also just for timeline sake.
Attended ceremony 20th June, same date on cert. Date on letter accompanying cert, 8th of July. Delivered today. So almost a month between the letter being written and the cert actually being posted to us.

Just adding a data point - wife was naturalised 20th June, and the cert arrived yesterday, 4th August.
