I have around 2.5 Years of experience and working in India right now......

Yes, i have been searching this forum for related topics....how ever....most of them are relating to software developers....

I have also seen opportunities in UK Job sites ....but ........ looking ahead if anyone can advice....as to how good is the market for MCSE ITIL holder having 2.5 years of expericne (not UK exp) in Active Direcoty and SMS 2003.....

Please respond.... i am open for all feedbacks... +ve or -ve

To be honest the UK market is not really good at the moment, mainly due to the credit crunch as well as due to end of the year just round the corner.
Better option in my opinion will be to wait atleast until next April and see if market opens up by then.

Thanks to dnicky for the reply....

i agree that the market is slow.......and i can wait till right time....

however..... i wanted to know about the aspects of Networking jobs in UK..... i mean Infra jobs.... IT System Administrator..... MCSE and Active Directory and all that things that sound great.... :-)

Quick Questions -

1. are they as more in number as Software jobs (except for the current time as there are crises everywhere)?

2. will UK employer consider my job Experience (India experience)... I mean can i take benefit of that experience ?? I am asking this question as i have read many topics that says "UK experience"....

Thanks in Advance...

UK experience does matter while applying for jobs in UK.
Having said that if you have got the right skills and significant experience to go with your skill set, then in an open market (which is not quite at the moment) you should still be able to secure yourself a job.

MCSE jobs

Hi,

It's not true that desktop or IT support jobs are not there in UK. In fact they are more in number than other software development jobs. I am not from IT support background still I have got a few calls for the same and they were looking for the kind of experience which you have.

Regards.

Good to hear that MCSE/Server Administration jobs are still available. Even I am planning to apply for UK tier 1 in Jan 09 and come to UK in March or April 09. I have 6 yrs of experience with MCSE 2003/2008/MCSA/ISA/MOSS 2007/OCS etc etc certifications and thorough knowledge on almost all the technologies. I am expert or specialist in Exchange 5.5/2000/2003/2007 servers administration and support. Currently working for Microsoft India :-).

Hope we have more people out there in the same field who can share their experience with us.

Regards

Hi Guys,

To be honest

Under current scenario the job in Network and Infrastructure is really not at its peak. The recession is now forcing their middle managemnt to manage this environement to save the cost associated with such roles.

This is not the negative approach but TO GET YOU AWARE WITH fact currently in network/INFRASTRUCTURE industries.

The current trend here in network and infrastructure is in transition phase. The small-med size companys outsourcing this services to ISP's which indirectly reduces the requirement of more skilled persons.
They are also adopting the latest SAAS and Cloud computing environement with online Infrastructure support.

This doesn't mean you will not have job but it all depends on what kind of skills you have if you have CCNP, CCSP(Cisco Security) certifications and expereince with ISP's chances are high.

Once again i would like to say the market is really really tough and its gona be there atleaset till next April.

If you are really doing good in india i'll advise to be there till next yr or so.
and built some specialisation during this time.

This is what i have understood from UK being a senior IT consultant for 2 yrs.
