Hi everyone, Can anyone let me know if you need to accept the invitation to the ceremony being held on October 2nd? I am travelling in China and received a notification from the DOJ but cannot gain access to my gmail account due to China blocking all things Google. Is there a timeframe attached to the email that you need to accept the invitation by? Thanks!

I would suggest to ask your friends or relatives to access your mail box and accept the invite.

Irish Naturalisation Ceremony October 2023

Post by Fred13 » Tue Sep 19, 2023 11:49 am

Hi all,

I have completed all the steps of e-Vetting nearly 2 months ago and It is now more than 19months since I applied for naturalisation. Does anyone know if I get invited for 2nd of October Ceremony in Dublin?

Today is 19th of September and still I have not got any invitation.

Anyone else in a similar situation? Or did anyone receive invitation for the ceremony of 2nd October 2023 already?

Anyone know when is the next ceremony after October one? I want to book ticket for Christmas and I am concerned if I book ticket and will have overlapping with a ceremony in December?
Many thanks.

When did you apply? There are people waiting since mid 2021, so youre not alone.
Did you get an approval letter? You need to be approved first and pay money, then you get a confirmation that money is paid and only then! there's a chance you'll be invited. It's not that straightforward after eVetting.

Also, topics merged - there's an existing thread about a ceremony.

ISD does; don't think anyone on forums works there, so we don't.

Wait until next week - maybe people will be invited instead of ones who did not confirm attendance. But we can only speculate.

Once again - ISD does. We can only speculate.
It may or may not be in December. If you want to be safe, book it during Christmas bank holidays - wouldn't expect ISD to work past 25th.

I applied in Feb 2022
Received confirmation of eVetting completion in mid July
I also received an email from them saying that we reviewed your application and we accept it to process it.

Not sure "accept it to process it" means exactly?
They havn't asked me to pay yet, so I suppose I am too late for October and need to see when is the next ceremony...
This is really stressful and exhusting ...

Then you haven't even finished eVetting yet. You need to get an email from Garda (@garda.ie email address) to fill out eVetting (see ireland/faq-evetting-process-for-citize ... 39595.html for more in depth process info) then they'll take a few weeks to process it, another few weeks/months for approval and a bit more time for payment processing.

I'm afraid there's no chance for December ceremony, if there's one. In the other hand, that means you can freely book your holidays.

I actually received the eVetting from Garda and provided all the old addresses, they checked that and sent the results to immigration office in middle of July.

Then you need to wait for a physical (snail mail) letter of approval. It will take a while I'm afraid.

I dont think if this is the case. There is no physical letter of approval for eVetting. A few friends of mind were invited for the June ceremony and none of them got any physical letter after eVetting their process was as followed:
1- Receiving a letter from Naturalisation office to get your consent for eVetting (Email)
2- You give them consent (Email)
3- The Garda connects you and ask you to fill a form i.e., all previous addresses and etc (Email online)
4- An email comes from Garda saying your eVetting is completed and the result is sent to naturalization
5- Request by naturalisation for money
6- Receiving invitation letter (Email)

So what is the physical letter then? I guess the physical letter used to be for older systems

5- Request by naturalisation for money
Physical letter is for this step

No, request from naturalization for money in your list will come as a physical letter.

Double check with your friends - I hadn't heard of a case where this came as an online letter. I'll be happy to be corrected but there's nothing that I know to suggest it's possible.

You do pay money online (on ISD website) but you need a physical letter first to state you can go ahead with that.

I also heard EU/UK citizens who apply for naturalisation will be prioritised so if you friend applied in Feb and got invited for Oct, then he/she is probablly be EU/UK citizen.

Nope. He's not. He's an Indian citizen

We can speculate about EU/UK faster, spouses slower, but none of that is confirmed true, it is still black box.

That is partially true, I have seen the timelines and EU/ EEA are given preference. They also skip the queue. My aunt is married to an irish citizen and she did skip the queue and her case was put forward.
