Employment ref letter not signed

Post by garrick » Fri Sep 15, 2023 3:07 pm

Hi, I am in the process of submitting Set(O) application for my wife. She has received employment reference letter. She works for county council ( government job). Employment reference letter is on proper letter head giving all the required details but it is not signed. It just mentions at the bottom “your sincerely” followed by name and contact details. Her employer says that this is the standard way of providing letter by them. Will this cause any issue?

Hello Zimba, do you mean there is no specific requirement for letter to be signed so nothing to worry about?

Thanks Zimba. I still dont have any update about my sons’s ILR. It has been 4 days since biometric under super priority. I received my wife’s decision on ILR within 24 hours. As child’s decision depends on parents status, is it due to this reason my son’s decision is delayed?

I cannot tell you what is delaying his application. UKVI may have their reasons. You should hear from them soon

Hello Zimba, My son received positive decision today for his ILR. As decision arrived after 4 working days since biometric, i would like to apply for refund of super priority charges. Link shared by you for refund only covers scenarios for refund but it does not cover any online process for refund application. Can you please help with the same.

There is no online process and often refunds are issued automatically. The document tells you to contact the UKVI:

UK Visas and Immigration contact centre
Telephone: 0300 790 6268 - select option 2
Monday to Thursday (excluding bank holidays), 9am to 4:45pm
Friday (excluding bank holidays), 9am to 4:30pm

ask for document after decision email

Post by garrick » Wed Sep 27, 2023 3:46 pm

Hello, Last week i received successful decision email for my wife as well as adult son. However, we are yet to receive their BRPs and today they received emails to send original degree certificate and birth certificate respectively. This is very weird to get such demand for documents after receiving decision on ILR. Has anyone come across such situation? Does this mean decision email was wrongly sent? What shall we do now?

Ask the HO to clarify if the mail is actually for you or sent inadvertently as you already have decisions or outcomes on the applications.

If you are sending any original document get it tracked and signed for

Hi, How to ask HO this query? They have not provided any email id. They have given address to send originals. I am confused and frustrated.
