How to change local council for ceremony (moved to another city)

Post by te23 » Tue Sep 26, 2023 1:58 pm

Hello, I've moved from the place that I was previously in and now I'm in a different city.

How can I change the council for the ceremony?

Easier to attend whenere you were at the council.

To change, you have to request it, the council then send the certificate back to ukvi. They then yake however long to send it to a new council.

It can take many weeks.

Thank you. Would that create an issue also because the ceremony must take place within 3 months of approval?

It will definitely cause unnecessary delay, it is not a straightforward process. Is it worth it?

Oh ok, thank you.

Just want to confirm whether the BRP has to be returned within a week of the ceremony, before one can get a passport?

Noting to do with the BRP. You can apply for passport as soon as you got the certificate.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thank you. Do I need to inform the HO once I have attended the ceremony?
