They defo came back and asked my husband for his original. Said they can't verify the certified.copies currently because of the backlog in the citizenship department they don't have the time to verify for the passport office.
We sent the original when they asked and it only delayed the application by 2 days in the end. Got the passport about 3 weeks ago now. I saw on the passport questions group on Facebook, some of the applicants who opted to wait and were told they would be able to verify certified copies again in September are actually still waiting it seems.

OK, I can see on your timeline you applied in JANUARY 2021
so I believe they are sending a certificate by chronicle order or randomly?
Did anyone receive the certificate later application submission date?

Given the volume of emails we are currently experiencing we will not be in a position to respond to any query in relation to an approved application for a certificate of naturalisation or an invitation to the next citizenship ceremony.

This is slightly concerning. Hopefully nothing's going to happen with my certificate.

2nd applicant of our applications - attended 2 October 2023 - 11 am -

To be honest if I was to put my bet on something I would say that they are sorting and sending the certificates either alphabetically or strictly by the applicant number.

They should send the certificate first to whoever has been waiting the longest in the line,
not by 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. or alphabetic order or application number.
To be honest I don't know how they work

In which line?

Since they have a pile of papers that are in random order (one that you print out and they sign it at the ceremony) and they have to check if you've got it signed, I'd assume that's what they're going off of - these papers.

Longest in the line means that someone who applied in January 2021 and was approved and attended the October 23 ceremony should be getting their certificate first before than someone who applied in December 2021 and was approved and attended the October 23 ceremony.

3weeks already passed - How many have received their certificate?
why is it taking so long to print just one piece of paper and deliver it locally? May be Printing Process take more work - like security, or the printer shop can't handle 3000 prints in one day?
