Tried calling agents say one thing after another some even mention ‘we are waiting for your home country to verify birth cert, another said we can’t see such info as agents, another says it’s approved should get it by end of week…. Is this normal ???

Bit bizarre to get the ID card first, but there was an issue with Royal Mail this week (tracking still says my passport is at Heathrow!)
