New employer start date with application pending and valid COS

Hello,

I have skilled worker visa valid unitl 2026and I have applied for visa update for change of employer and the Visa is delayed not sure how long it will take, can I start work for new employer given I have a valid Cos attached and I have already left job at previous employer because we didn't anticipated the delay in visa decision also my Job code is on shortage list

You can not start work with your new employer until you receive your visa.
