Referee - Director of a Non VAT Registered Company

Hi All,

We are putting British Naturalisation Application for my step daughter.

We are little confused in the referee section.

We have 1 referee who is a British National over the age of 25.

Second referee is a Director of a Limited Company but his company is not VAT Registered. Would this suffice under the professional referee category?

His Profession (Nature of Business) is Office Administration Services.

I believe he would fall under the category of “Chairman or Director of a Limited Company” ?

No, because as you state in your first post, the company isn't VAT registered.

No, because as you state in your first post, the company isn't VAT registered.

Yes, I did but after reviewing the professional list on page 24, it has 2 categories of a Director:

- Chairman or Director of a Limited Company
- Director, Manager or Personnel Officer of a VAT registered company.

I believe he falls under the category as Director of a Limited Category.

Please suggest.

You need to confirm with them they hold the position of Director and that it is a limited company. If that is the case, then the guidance says it is accepted.

I have cross checked the details on Companies House and it is a Ltd company and he is Director.
