life in uk test validity for citizenship application

Post by dude_123 » Thu Dec 21, 2023 12:48 pm

my wife passed life in uk test in Sep 2020 ,and received ILR as a spouse dependent of British citizen(Husband) in June 2021. now my wife is applying for British citizenship application.

there is a requirement to provide URN number for passed life in uk test, however i have read online that passed results is valid for 2 years only.

as she is applying now which is more than 2 years after she passed the test, does she need to pass life in uk test again?

pls advise.

I strongly suggest you to double check your sources. 2 year validity requirement applies for English tests only (and can be bypassed in certain circumstances).

correct , thanks for response , i have misread the information. 2 years validity is for language requirement , not for life in uk test. i have URN number for passed life in uk test, but i can not access the result online as account is locked. i hope URN number is enough for the citizenship application.

URN is sufficient.
Test centres transmit the test results to UKVI so no need for the pass letter.

Post by dude_123 » Thu Dec 21, 2023 1:28 pm

India dont allow dual citizenship as i understand . Does my wife need to give up the Indian Citizenship before applying for British citizenship ? or can it be done later at the time of applying British passport?

can you provide any reference link on dual citizenship for indian.

Can't comment on that issue.
This is discussed at length in this forum: other-countries/
I don't think renunciation is necessary before applying for BC - but there's a specific process to go through after - ask about it in that forum.
