Hi Corw,

It is possible indeed and it's in-fact what our local Garda immigration officer told us to do i.e. apply EUTR3 after 4.5 years (6 months before the expiry date).

Some people who have applied EUTR3 2 months before expiry date were issued temporary stamp 4 (read it on this forum), you can search for it.

You mean

Can I apply EUTR3 in January then ?
However my current permission will be expired 30 August 2024?

If I were you, I would apply exactly 6 months before the expiry date (to be on the safe side) i.e. end of Feb 2024/beginning of March 2024.

More experienced members can probably guide you on whether or not you can/should apply even earlier e.g. in Jan 2024.

To ensure there are no gaps in your residence permission, you should make an application for a permanent residence card Form EUTR3 six months before the expiry of your residence card.
