Hello all,
New here and will be applying for a passport through naturalisation in July this year.
I have a question because I am not sure how to understand this rule from Citizens Information website
"Residence in the State
You must have lived in the State for a certain length of time. The specific requirements are that you:
Have a period of 365 days (1 year) continuous reckonable residence in the State immediately before the date of your application for naturalisation"
How should I understand the above? Does that mean that I can't leave the country for a year before applying for the passport? Let's say, I am applying in July 2024, does that mean that I can't leave the State from July 2023-July 2024? I am not certain how should I understand that, thank you for all help and explaining the rule
