Regarding Employment Details

Post by awesomeagni » Tue Jan 09, 2024 12:18 pm

Hello,

I have lived in the UK for 8 years now (5 years on Tier 2 General + 3 years on ILR) and worked at two different organizations during the tenure.

- Do I have to provide details of both the organizations (Previous and Current)?
The online application does not give me the provision to add any previous employment details.

- May I know what kind of documents I have to provide to support my employment details, if any, please?

Thanks in advance.

Only provide details of your current employer (tax reference number). If your passport gets stamped when you enter/leave the country, no further documentation about your employer will be needed.

For current employer: no paperwork required, just enter the details on the form - employment is not a requirement for naturalisation. to confirm employment history not required.

One more generic question, if I may.
Do any of the documents have to be self-attested when uploaded?

Apologies, if it should be on a different thread or if its answered anywhere else.

Thanks in advance.

Ask all of your questions in this thread - no issues. What do you mean by "self-attested"? What documents are you thinking of providing?

When you submit your online application the button "submit" is your attest the the facts being true and correct. This includes the documents you upload. They don't need to be certified.

By self-attested, I meant, signed by myself (before scanning and uploading).

Hello,

Is a medical professional (someone who is member of a public board - UKCP) acceptable as a professional referee?

Thank you.

• assurance agent of recognised company
• bank or building society official
• barrister
• British Computer Society (BCS) - professional grades which are Associate
(AMBCS), Member (MBCS), Fellow (FBCS)
• broker
• chairman or director of limited company
• chemist
• chiropodist
• christian science practitioner
• commissioner for oaths
• councillor: local or county
• civil servant (permanent)
• dentist
• designated premises supervisors
• director or Manager of a VAT registered charity
• director, manager or personnel officer of a VAT registered company
• driving instructor (approved)
• engineer (with professional qualifications)
• fire service official
• funeral director
• insurance agent (full time) of a recognised company
• journalist
• justice of the Peace
• legal secretary (members and fellows of the Institute of legal secretaries)
• local government officer
• manager or Personnel officer (of limited company)
• member of Parliament
• member of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces
• Merchant Navy officer
• minister of a recognised religion
• nurse (RN, SEN or holder of a BA in nursing)
• officer of the armed services (active or retired)
• optician
• paralegal (certified or qualified paralegals, and associate members of the
Institute of Paralegals)
• person with honours (such as OBE, MBE and so on)
• personal licensee holders
• photographer (professional)
• police officer

• warrant officers and chief petty officers

Psychologists/psychotherapists don't seem to appear but the list is not exhaustive, so it is a grey area. If they are chartered the might be OK but hard to be sure. If they weren't suitable UKVI would ask you to supply a different referee.

Hello,

Do the documents need to be scanned in black and white, or are documents scanned in colour fine?

Thank you.

Apologies if it seems daft, but I am asking because UKVCAS lists the following:

Helpful tips
  • Keep the file name simple
  • Scan in black and white
  • File size limit is 6MB
  • File types accepted are jpg, pdf, png
  • Add a useful file description
  • Check for any errors
Thank you once again.

You can scan in colour but there is a size limit of 6MB, that is why they recommend to upload documents scanned in black and white. As far as you respect the size limit, you can upload in colour if you wish, but not necessary.

Yeah, thats what I thought. Its just that I already had the documents scanned in colour (and most of them are within the size limit specified), hence, was checking if it was absolutely mandatory to scan the docs in black and white.

Thank you so much once again @contorted_svy

You need to find a way to make those that don't fit the size limit less than 6MB - maybe scan those again in black and white and/or in lower resolution. The system will reject them if bigger than 6MB.

Hello again,

Only a few pages of my passport are stamped, remaining are blank.
Do I need to scan the stamped pages only or do I need to scan all of the pages of the passport?

My point being, they may verify the entry and exit stamps against the entry and exit dates on the form. But would they not want to see if I am misstating the dates (as in hiding the dates etc, this is just me being overly cautious, I suppose)?

Thank you.

UKVI have other ways to verify your travel. They do not only look at your passport and the form.

No need to scan blank pages.

Hi,

Do I need to sign on the back of the photo and then glue the photo on the referee declarations?
Or do I just ignore the sign (on the back of the photo) part?

Thank you.

That instruction is a leftover from the paper days

Hello,

Good Afternoon.

My question is regarding the document to be uploaded for proof of living in the UK.
I know passport has to be scanned and uploaded (which has entry and exit stamps).

I will provide my passport for proof of living in the UK as well.

1. So on the ukvcas site, do I have to upload the same document (passport) for both the categories (Passport and Proof of living)? OR is uploading the passport against the passport category enough?

2. I am also planning to upload my P60s as proof of living. Do you think this is required (given my passport has all the entry and exit stamps (for the last 5 years))?

Thank you in advance.
