Accommodation Requirements

Post by RajaHindustani » Tue Jan 02, 2024 11:06 am

Dear Members,

I am a naturalised British citizen. I am married for about 15 years now. Have a daughter and son they are 13, 11 year old respectively.. They all are in India. My wife was with me in UK for a couple of years (ie. Over 10 years ago). Kids never been to UK. Kindly help me with a few queries

1. Is marriage certificate enough to prove your relationship for married couples (living in different counties for so long). If not what else is required

2. What is the accomadation requirement if you have two 10 year olds (boy + Girl)

3. Is the IHS fee increasing this month?

Thanks,

1. You need to prove your relationship is subsistent, I think you need to show calls history, chats, money transfer to the family regularly, your frequent visits back home. However, senior members cans had more light on this.
2. You will need 3 bedroom property as same gender children can share bedroom until age 16, I think for different gender its 10.
3. IHS fee is increasing by 66% from mid January.

Thank you Meesha for your valuable response!

Is the IHS increase already approved by the law makers. There is no official update on this yet. On Google it shows 16th Jan but most of those links are immigration solicitors websites

The Statutory Instrument implementing the increase is to be debated next Wednesday and will come into force after 21 days, so about the first week of February.

But it will be passed. The Commons do not oppose the government (because it has a built-in majority) and it already passed the Lords in December.

Thank you so much @secret.simon for the valuable information..

In regards to subsisting relationship, are whatsapp chats, money transfer and kids birth certificates, school admission certs etc are enough. Or anything else is required. Do I need to add reasons on why lived in different countries for so long

That may suffice, use as much as you have to show relationship is subsisting. Your explanation may give context to why.

Will you be having a tenancy agreement for the new place in February already before or by the time you are applying

Employment - Peobation period

Post by RajaHindustani » Fri Jan 19, 2024 1:33 pm

Dear Team,

I am submitting the family visa application this month. I have recently switched to a new employer. Before that i was employed for continous 12 years .. I have just realised that my probation with the new employer is until April.

Is being on probation has any impact on the spouse visa entey clearance application?

Thanks,

Probably not if employed and all other requirement is met and you can get the letter from your employer. How recently did you switch?

Use of living room as a bedroom. This is unlikely to be an issue.
If the lease allows / states a set amount of occupancy then as long as you are not above that it points to being ok. If the lease is silent on that then the caseworker may enquire.
I believe some local authorities can issue a certificate of maximum habitation. Maybe look at that as a possibility?

Found this online from a landlord advisory site.

There is another calculation method based on the room count in housing (including only living rooms and bedrooms).

The maximum allowed number of people is:

1 room = 2 persons (max)
2 rooms = 3 persons (max)
3 rooms = 5 persons (max)
4 rooms = 7,5 persons (max)
5 rooms = 10 persons (max

Thank you so much for the response! I have just completed a dummy application to see the required documents.. Within the application you have to complete the available no of bedrooms and other rooms etc but Accomation related documents are not requested either as mandatory documents or other supporting documents.. has anything changed or am i missing something?

No surname. How do you complete the details

Post by RajaHindustani » Mon Jan 29, 2024 11:35 am

Hello There,

I am applying for visas for my family. My wife and daughter doesn't have a surname but the application doesn't have an option to move forward. In india normally in this scenario you add same name for both surname and given name. Is it same here
