Anuar wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 1:19 amThank you for the clarification. May I ask you the last question here:
In the list of supportive documents for my wife's application, I found this "Evidence of Mrs xxx immigration status in the UK". As I understand it is her current BRP card, right? Correct
P.S. Sorry if this question has been already asked by other applicants.
Thanks in advance.
There is no expiry date for ILR, the clue is in the word INDEFINITE leave to Remain. It is only the BRP Card that expires, not the ILR status.how can we check her permission to stay date (if such a date exists for ILR applications)?
You will use whatever the new digital system is that is in place at that time. We don't know what that will be as yet. Also, in one year (Feb 2025) we plan to apply for a UK passport for her, and as I understand, we still could use this card for that future application, correct?
She is married to a British Citizen which is why she does not have to wait 12 months. This was not the case for you, so you had to wait 12 months.I did not know that she doesn't not need to wait an additional 12 months (as I waited previously with my ILT before applying for a passport). Thanks for the reference- I will use this link.
