Maintenance funds in two Bank accounts , Acceptable ?

Post by amit_cris » Mon Dec 29, 2008 10:19 am

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for Tier1 next month ( Jan 09). I have maintained 4400 GBP as required for Tier 1 applicant. I have maintain 3.90 lakhs INR in my HDFC account ( say Account 1) since 01 Sept 2008 - 15 Nov-2008 afterwards i transfered this entire fund to my second HDFC bank account ( say Account 2) with Same branch.

Is that ok if attached two month statement form Account 1 and another 2 months statement from second HDFC ( Account 2), wiith contact details of Bank Manager and branch is same.

I hope its not going to create any wrong impression/confusion in case worker's mind, or just unnecessary doubt leading to rejection of my Visa.

Any valuables inputs will be highly appreciated.

There is nothing in the guidance notes to suggest that you can not use more than one account (not to mean that it explicitly says that you can). However, noe that the funds have been sitting in your new account for around tw months why dont you play safe and wait for one more month?

The point I am making is: You can pretty much argue that you have consistently maintained the minimum amount in two accounts (combined) and you might succeed (becomes a bit subjective here) but the question is how much risk averse are you?
