Hi,
I received my Naturalisation certificate on 6th March 2024, with a cover letter dated 10th February 2024 (note this is the date the Minister considers as the issue date, as mentioned in the response letter from the Minister to TD). Ceremony date 19th December 2023, at 1 pm.
I applied for my passport on the same day, tracked its progress today, and anticipate its issuance on April 9, 2024, barring any additional information or unforeseen factors that might affect this date.
Wishing the best of luck to everyone who is still waiting!
Did you need to submit your non-Irish passport when you applied?? I have seen conflicting data on this
Hi,
Yep there is conflicting information about sending the original passport. The application cover page suggests it as an option, but the email confirmation (which I only read after posting) insists on its submission. Instead, I sent a certified colored copy of my PSC and driving license, both authenticated by the same Garda who signed the identity form.
If you can part with your original passport then do send it in, but I don’t believe it is deemed necessary if you have other government IDs confirming identity.
Additionally, I included my original marriage certificate due to the surname difference between it and my birth certificate.
I hope this clarifies things.
