Received my certificate on the 4th of March. Ceremony 19th Dec 1 pm. Letter was dated 11 February.

Can you please provide the first letter of your first name & last name? perhaps they are posting out the cert in alphabetical sequence.

My Ceremony is on 19th Dec 1pm - First name: S & Last Name: T

Thanks

In my opinion you’re overthinking it. Unfortunately it’s likely just a stack of certificates (in no particular order) which might need to go through some stage of vetting once printed. Even if they don’t get a second look, it’s probably only a couple of employees dedicated to individually preparing and posting them out.

I’m not defending the department as it’s completely ridiculous it’s taking this long. They knew the high numbers of applicants and additional ceremonies being held for over a year. In my opinion I think this stage of the process is of least concern to the department because technically the statistics here do not matter that much. (I.e. to them you’re already naturalised regardless of paperwork received)

I finally got today my certificate. Good luck and patience to all of those who are waiting. The process is pretty frustrating and we can only hope for the upcoming applicants no to go through the same pain

Hi,

I received my Naturalisation certificate on 6th March 2024, with a cover letter dated 10th February 2024 (note this is the date the Minister considers as the issue date, as mentioned in the response letter from the Minister to TD). Ceremony date 19th December 2023, at 1 pm.

I applied for my passport on the same day, tracked its progress today, and anticipate its issuance on April 9, 2024, barring any additional information or unforeseen factors that might affect this date.

Wishing the best of luck to everyone who is still waiting!

Received my certificate in Dublin this morning 19th Dec. 1pm ceremony. All details in the certificate were correct.
Cover Letter had date of 7th Feb. Noticed the date on the envelope was 6th March.

Submitted my passport application today. Now wait for passport begin.

The inefficiency, disorganization, and lack of accountability baffles me. It's upsetting.

I received my certificate a few weeks ago, but I'm now battling with the passport application. It's insane. Almost three years of this. :|

Hey! Made an account just to say I got my cert today. Don't know where you guys are getting the dates for when it was printed and sent but I attended the 3pm ceremony on the 19th of Dec. The letter that came with it is signed for the 19th of Feb 2024, but I only got it today, the 7th of March. My initials are A for first name and K for last name if that even contributes to anything. Good luck to everyone!

Did you need to submit your non-Irish passport when you applied?? I have seen conflicting data on this

You do not need to submit your original passport if you are resident in Ireland and have an in date PSC card (non certified colour copy of front and back.

If you want to send your passport too there’s no harm in that, but it’s been confirmed by the DFA that it’s not needed if you meet the PSC card requirements.

Hi,

Yep there is conflicting information about sending the original passport. The application cover page suggests it as an option, but the email confirmation (which I only read after posting) insists on its submission. Instead, I sent a certified colored copy of my PSC and driving license, both authenticated by the same Garda who signed the identity form.

If you can part with your original passport then do send it in, but I don’t believe it is deemed necessary if you have other government IDs confirming identity.

Additionally, I included my original marriage certificate due to the surname difference between it and my birth certificate.

I hope this clarifies things.

You are definitely not alone, I’m from 19th @10.30am ceremony and still waiting for cert. I have one question though, I presume if the ISD were not satisfied with the photograph uploaded when paying ceremony fee, they would have reached out to request for a better photograph for the cert? I have seen one or two persons mentioned this in the past. I’m just thinking out loud!

Few people posted here that they were contacted re uploading a new photo which means they are still printing out the certificates. Almost 3 months, but yeah they still do it. Ar this point I dont know what to expect. There is no particular order they send out these certificates…

i think all the Dec certs are already printed. mine was printed on 18th Feb. They are taking their time to post the certs and not posting them all at one go. my TD said, dept is posting alphabetically. i dint believe that . even if that is true, they hv sent mine as my surname starts with "V" .

TDs have been told that all the Dec certs would be posted in 2 weeks time(i.e week after St.Patrick's day). my suggestion is to reach out to the TDs and ask them to check for your case specifically.
