Withdrawing indian passport renewal application

I had applied for renewal of daughters indian passport. She has now received her British citizenship. I need to cancel the passport application so I can get it back and eventually use it to submit British passport application. Any idea how I do it?

How did you apply for withdrawal? How many days did it take to get your passport back.
