Switching from Tier2 to Tier1, Information plz

Hi all,
I work for a company and last September i got the company sponsored work permit. now i like to switch my immigration category from Tier2 to Tier1. i can score the required points for this category. but if i apply for the tier1, will they cancel my current tier2 visa? or, if i get refused, will my tier2 visa still be valid?
any information or advice will be highly appreciated.

Leave to remain/enter under WP (I am assuming you are still under WP & not tier 2) will be cancelled if leave to remain/enter (switching) is approved under Tier-1.

thanks for ur reply. sorry about the confusing information i provided. i like to know, if for any reason my tier1 application get refusal, will my current leave to remain in WP be valid. what effect my current WP would face for the application.

Your WP will not be cancelled if you fail to get the Tier-1 approval
