Consent for the Home Office to request verification checks

Post by Sunny40 » Sat Apr 13, 2024 10:50 pm

Hi Everyone,
I am filing dependant visa for my child (minor) and at the end of the application the document that is been asked to submit along with Mandatory document is the Consent for the Home Office to request verification checks. I am not 100% sure what this means. It has got three parts m Part1, Part 2 and part 3.

Not sure if i need to fill all the parts and if yes single parent should sign and both the parent should sign?

Please suggest. Thanks

You will have to fill in all the parts and co-signed by both parents. They have sought your consent to perform some checks - may be with your landlord, school and could be anybody else.

I I were you, I would do the following

PART 1 -
Name and address of applicant: Your child

Signature: both parents

PART 2 -
Name and address of joint owner - both parents, I would assume that stuff like rental contract are in both parents names

PART 3-
Name and address of financial sponsor: Parents

Normally, they do all these checks for minors. Thats is a general template used for all long term visas.

Thank you.

But the part 3 says if third party is sponsoring (finance). Still as parent we need to sign?

"PART 3: Consent for the Home Office to verify information from third party sponsor"

"You (the applicant) should sign the Part 1 consent, and relevant other parties should
sign Part 2 and 3, where they are relevant to your application. You must send them
with your supporting documents If you fail to do, your application may be refused."

Parents are not third party sponsors nor your employers. Part 3 is not relevant. You can leave it as not applicable and but still sign across that page.

Its a general template for all resident visas dependent, priests and many categories. It really makes sense for some categories and not for minors.
