Skilled Worker VISA

Post by Lovecricket » Tue Feb 20, 2024 11:18 pm

Hi All,

I have applied for skilled worker VISA and awaiting decision. My wife is on my dependent VISA and working. Will she be able to continue her work until we receive the decision even if our current VISA expires?

You will be able to work (for the same employer) while your visa is processing.
Your wife needs to apply for an extension of her dependent visa if her visa is about to expire; when is also able to stay on conditions of her last leave until a decision is made.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.

Is it still valid if someone has resigned from the employer who processed their visa while no curtailment letter is received from home office.

If your current visa expires while you're awaiting the decision on your Skilled Worker visa, you and your wife will likely be on a Bridging Visa A (BVA). This allows you to stay legally, and your wife can continue to work under the same conditions as her dependent visa, as long as the BVA doesn't have additional work restrictions. It's always good to double-check the conditions of the BVA to ensure her work rights remain unchanged.

A BVA visa exists in Australia, nothing to do with the UK.

Also OP hasn't posted in more than three months..
