Stamp 4 renewal with passport less than 1year

Hi,

I am currently holding a stamp 4 which obtained from critical skill work permit. Normally i renew stamp 4 every 2 years. I am due to renew in late May 2024 but my passport will be expired in late March 2025. In this case, how long they will give me? I am extremely worried because i need to renew it for at least 12 months to draw down my mortgage.

Anyone has any idea?

2 years, you will have to go back to the with new passport though so they can stamp on it as well. No charges.

I renewed one with 5 months left still got full 2 years.
Recently renewed again with the new passport nothing ask and got approved so don't think I need to stamp anyway

Just bring your old one just incase if you in and out to the country

I think similar case happened to me. When I applied for Stamp 4, my passport was expiring in June 2020. So they only gave me until June 2020 but the officer told me that when my Stamp 4 IRP expiry comes I would need to let them know that I only need to extend it for 2 years with my new passport. When I applied for my Stamp 4, there was no online portal yet to do the application/renewal.
