Extending FLR For Not Passing Life in the UK

Post by mariama1981 » Tue May 28, 2024 9:27 pm

Hello everyone,

My wife has been in the country for 5 years 6 month and has not pass the life in the UK test. She tried more than 8 times but could not pass the test. Her visa is expiring 15th June 2024 which is next month.

Is there any possibilities that she can apply to extend her visa until she pass the life in the UK? If possible which form do I used? Also what will be the cost?

Thank you for your support.

Mr Coker

Is she on a Spouse visa, ie are you British?

She applies on FLR(M), same form she would have applied for previous extension, provided she/you meet all the requirements.

Visa fee is £1048
IHS Fee is £2,587.50

I am a British Citizen and she is on FLR (M) and has spend 5 years 6 month in Uk and is due to apply for ILR, but because she has not pass the Life in the Uk test. I was asking if she can be allowed to extend her visa until she pass the life in the UK test.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

There is no limit on how many times she can apply for an extension.

Thank you so much for your help, much appreciated.

Is she going to do the English test she did on her last renewal two years 6 months ago?

Regards

She can use her expired English test provided it is still on the UKVI approved list.

Did she or what are the resources she used towards her preparations?

There is one called lifeintheuktestweb, search for it on Google.

she is using the official life in the UK test www.officiallifeintheuk.co.uk. Because of her education level is low and she is educated in French, this has contributed to her failing the exam.

Let her try the resource whose link was posted above.
It's to be able to recall the answers and then give same as appropriate during LIUK exam.

If she has a good command in English - e.g. was able to pass an English test - it should be possible to also pass the LIUK.

I personally used https://lifeintheuktestweb.co.uk/ to prepare, and it worked. Many here on the forum (and outside) have used the same link to pass the test. I believe the site uses a language easy to understand for someone with English as their second language - at any level.

Another good one is: https://lifeintheuktest.com/ with study materials translated to some of the most common foreign languages in the UK.

Both are free.
