Child benefit claim by mistake

My wife and I made a claim to child benefit and we are not eligible to it , still not approved I stopped the payment manually on the HMRC APP for now how can I cancel everything before it get approved

Why are you not eligible? It shouldn’t be approved if you are subject to immigration control. You can contact HMRC child benefit helpline on 0300 200 3100 to withdraw a claim.
