Realistically, I think ARD & 4L are fairly recent additions to all the sections available for a variety of scenarios - unlikely you'll find lots of members here having experience of the process. I may be wrong ...MandyWithoutTheM wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 9:05 pmThank you so much for sharing this! Could you share some more details of your experience - did you apply from within the UK? How long did your process take? When did you hear back from the home office after you submitted your application? Did you receive separate correspondence for payment receipt and biometrics instructions?
Apologies for all the questions, there really just doesn't seem to be much info about this at all or many people who've shared their experiences with this sort of application.
There is a forum on a britishexpats site that has a lot of 4L answers.MandyWithoutTheM wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 9:05 pmThank you so much for sharing this! Thanks so much for this, I've applied from within the UK last month and received a letter from Home Office confirming receipt of my citizenship ceremony fee payment this week (about a week after it was debited). But no news on biometrics yet - I am living in the UK on an ancestral visa and have a biometric residency permit, so wondered if they would use that for my biometric records. Guess I just have to wait to see if I receive a second letter for biometrics now.lemonbat wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 2:07 amThere is a forum on a britishexpats site that has a lot of 4L answers.MandyWithoutTheM wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 9:05 pmThank you so much for sharing this! Outside the UK, took about 10 months for decision from app submission, and then 2 months for ceremony invite, and 2 more months for ceremony appointment, so just over a year total. Only hear from them when they take payment and invite you to biometrics - nothing else until decision email. That invite took about 1.5 months for me. No correspondence on payment, just email about biometrics on the same day my card was debited. I emailed at 6 months from biometrics and was told the standard 'it's just taking a while,' which took almost a month to get that response, and then a couple weeks later I got my decision. Very opaque process once you submit but just have patience and email at 6 months from biometrics if you don't have a response by then.
OP already has a lengthy topic where advice has been given.
