Need help with my baby Appendix FM (coming with Fiance)

I am Irish Citizen (considered settled)


I filled appendix FM for my 1 year old baby to join me however the form

Finance section : Finance its ask about me .

Employment /Income details It does ask "Is Fiance currently employed or self-employed? " Thats weird because i am the sponsor and she is coming on fiance VISA.


They are both joining (My baby does not have the irish citizen yet it might take a few more months)

If baby has irish citizenship will not need to go through appendix FM as should be covered under common travel area rights which pre date EU. Will need the irish passport for entry or some form of temporary visa for entry if using foreign passport.

If you are an Irish citizen living in UK before 2020 then may be able to use EU settlement scheme travel permit to move baby even while waiting for the irish passport so suggest investigating that before the appendix fm route. May be worth posting more details in EU settlement scheme forum for advice.

My baby is not irish yet , he is still waiting for FBR and no I have been in the UK for less than a year .

There's no proof he is irish for now so they will treat like his mother

I am very confused in how to attach our 1 year old baby to fiance Visa.

I am an Irish in the UK for less than a year (My son is born abroad , he is not Irish yet due to FBR process ongoing)

The application process for my fiance is straight forward (she is asked to pay 2500 USD fees no IHS)


For my son i used to Appendix FM to join him mother (he is being asked to IHS and also they are asking his mother income while she is not yet).

I was hoping my son would only be asked to pay application fees like his mother because his visa depends on her.

I am not sure if i am doing it wrong .

Hi I understand better that he can not be attached to his mother fiancé visa and i that i will have to pay IHS.

However i have another question when doing the appendix FM Child Visa they are asking for my fiancé income details instead of mine (while asking if I am public funds or not) . Which is strange because she is still outside of this UK (applying for fiance visa). is this normal ?

You have put something incorrectly in the form.

For person the child is joining, you need to put your details, not the mother.

The first question on Appendix FM is the one that determine (Income details) . However clearly i must put my fiance name there.

Give details about your first parent
Give details about your parent who is currently applying for (or already has) limited leave to enter or remain as a:

partner of a settled person; or
parent of a settled child

This is what create even more confusing if my child is my dependent and not dependent to his mother.

I wonder if i am suppose to apply to VaF4a on top on Appendix FM
