Naturalization Application Questions

Post by Babajee85 » Mon Jun 24, 2024 12:08 am

Hi ,

Hope you are all well.

Can someone please advise me for the questions as mentioined below :

My Wife & daughter just got her ILR recently and want to apply foir citizenship.

Husband received ILR on 20 Dec 2012
I Naturalised as British on 14 April 2014
Date of Marriage: 7th April 2010
Wife was on Spouse visa and daughter as dependant (Daughter was born out of uk on 8th Jan 2011)

Now Wife & daughter got the ILR after 5 year being on souse visa. ILR was issue on 7th June 2024.

QUestions as:

Can my wife & daughter apply stragith away for Naturalization ?
Can my wife add the daugter as an Additional applicant like child under 18 in the online form ?
Is there any way my wife & daughter can apply for naturalisation and passport at the same time ?

Thanks

You will add another applicant, declare they are under 18, and the online form will adjust to become the MN1 form automatically.

Thanks a lot !

In the documents sections its asking for

Proof of parental responsibility for child application for both parents. what should be that please please ?

then listed this A letter of consent from child parent(s) or legal guardian(s) ? what this means please

Proof of living in the UK for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen ...If you are a Non-EEA National, you need to include your passport to prove you have lived in the UK for the relevant 3- or 5-year period.Question is , Should i scan the all the pages of old and current passport even though my wife have never been out of the country during the last 5 years ?

It is free to scan all pages, what difference does it make to you to scan all of them? The way I see it, better spend 5 more minutes in front of the scanner and avoid the risk to forget a stamp. Better safe than sorry.

So Pre-COVID, you had to submit your passport. Your passport stays with the HO during the entirety of the visa application. All that changed around COVID.
The HO still needs your passport in a digital form. The closest thing to having your passport is a copy of all the pages.
I can't remember now, but the document check list also states that clearly.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
