Dependant brother of British citizen

Post by Shani_rao » Fri Jun 28, 2024 6:32 pm

Hi everybody, hope you are doing well.

I am new here. I found lot of articles here on family and private life and two years living together rule.

I am an asylum seeker in the united kingdom.

My brother is a British citizen.

I have been living with him at the same address for two years.

We have joint bills in our names.

Does the two year living together relationship only apply to couples like unmarried partners etc?

Can I apply as a family member of British citizen under article 8 of Human rights Act 1998?

I will really appriciate if you guys can help me on this.

Thank you very much.

Yes.

No. You are better off on the route you are on or finding another visa you qualify for.

How old are you?

British citizens cannot easily (at all) sponsor extended family that are not spouse or children.

What is your UK immigration history?

When did you arrive and on what visa?

When did you claim asylum?

Where in the asylum process are you at the moment?
