Naturalisation application - tax return and engligh language

Post by Dilliwalah » Sat Jun 29, 2024 10:33 am

Dear Friends

I got my ILR in feb 2020 and my wife got ILR in Jan 2023.

We both are eligible for naturalisation based on that and will be keeping filling naturalisation for both in the same application.

1. I have been self employed since last year and but was in full time employment before that.
I have been asked to submit my last year tax return as proof of self employment.b] But i was in full time employment for the period of my last tax return.[/b]
Shall I just submit that tax return?

2. My english language and degree evaluvation was done ny UK NARIC but in the document submitted I was asked Ecctis letter. Please advise on this.

Thanks ffor your support.

Shall I just submit that tax return? yes as you stated you are self employed. File your taxes for this year and submit full tax return and SA302

2. My english language and degree evaluvation was done ny UK NARIC but in the document submitted I was asked Ecctis letter. Please advise on this. they are equivalent. Submit the doc you have from NARIC and remember to state this is what you used to prove knowledge of English for ILR if you did.

Thanks ffor your support.

Thanks - do I have to do for Apr 2024 as due date is Jan 2025 or can I submit last submitted i.e. Apr 2023? It will add more financial pressure on me hence asking.

You need to submit the tax return for April 2024, so file your taxes, establish a plan to pay them, and use the SA302 and full tax return for your citizenship application.

I just checked with my umbrella company and they regard me as an employee. So in that case i am in full time employee- when i removed the self employed check box and clicked employed. It is not asking me for tax returns. So can save up for that.

Abother question;

Non-applying dependants

Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time?

My wife is applying with me, what should be the answer to this. Both my kids are already british.

Answer Yes and explain children are already British, your wife does not count as a dependent in this context.

Also, your wife isn't necessarily your dependant. If she's work and self sustaining, she really doesn't depend on you.

More so, she has ILR as well, so not dependant in the immigration sense as well.

You can say NO.

Thank you all.

For referee 1 - who should be registered professional.

Is NMC (nursing and midwife council) registered nurse OK to be referee? She is not british citizen

My referee 2 is british citizen professional over 25 year old.

Hello All - thanks for your support.

For the below document request;
Proof of living in the UK for Mr xxx for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen

I am a non-eea citizen so i will include my passport. What else is needed as it is mentioned not to attach bank statements or house hold bills?

Can I put my SC clearance certificate for this?

If the passport covers the full qualifying period that is OK.

Do you mean in terms of the last 5 years? My current passport does that.
I have also attached P60's for last 5 years
