Personally I find a regular post super helpful! Coz otherwise just sitting wondering - and mainly worried that once people get the cert through you'll forget about the rest of us still waiting
Seconded! 😅 Also, it will keep the topic 'trending' so that people see it at the top and therefore won't start a similar one.
Respectfully, I do not agree. This is a forum, not a diary. This is a platform to share information and updates. So unless you have something meaningful to share, please don't. If hundreds of us come here every day and post updates we actually don’t have (and the above post owner posted 2 hours apart!), it’s called spamming. Then important information is lost in between. We are all in the same boat here, coming to the forum and this topic every day, and when I see an update, I get excited. But what do I see? They didn’t receive the certificate today, like the rest of us. If the topic is quiet, that’s not a problem; it means there is no update yet. We’ll wait patiently and hope to have a meaningful update in this topic very soon!

IMHO the very update that confirms something does not yet happen does mean valuable information. Well, at least to me it is yet I fully understand that there may be other people that don't.

When you don't see any new post here at all you assume that other people don't receive anything. It is very much a different case if you see people posting messages saying they haven't received anything. I'm not saying that it's helpful to have too frequently hey-i-havent-received-anything posts, yet I guess that people may not have the same opinion on what's too frequent so I'd not complain anyway.

Instead of asking for updates here would it be a better idea for us to ask our TD to question the Minister of Justice? If I remember rightly she did say that they had resolved the problem leading to printing delays. Whether or not the Minister of Justice is giving truthful answers I think it is worth raising the questions so that it is on record that delays have not been rectified.

Good point! I sent one an email today. Lets see what the Minister's response is..

Thanks for that. I find it infuriating when the Minster of justice says "I am aware that following some previous ceremonies there were delays in certificates being received" as though the problems are historic when we know that they are current. The waffle "within the next few weeks" does not help either. A few weeks probably means 2 months. :(

How are you all coping on a personal level with this endless waiting?
I’ve taken to drink.

No cert received as of yet. End of August everyone should receive it, this assumption is based on the ceremony that was held in February /March 2024 where people received their certificates in May or June.

Indeed. But we were kind of hoping they would arrive earlier in the light of the Minister's comments about reduced waiting times.
Am desperately trying to distract myself with a bit of Swedish death cleaning.

FYI - i got the following from citizenship HD:

This office no longer prints certificates, this is now outsourced. Printing of certificates has not yet commenced but will be issued to you via registered post in due course.

So much for the optimism I had, but after having a think about it, we are not likely to get the certificates before 6 weeks from the ceremony. The Citizenship Declarations we signed and handed in during registration had no bar or QR codes, which means that the over 5,000 have to be manually reviewed and catalogued per our Application Reference Number and Person IDs, along with a possible comparison to the signatures on our passports/travel documents. It would take an army of staff, and in the summer months, virtually impossible to hire and vet such a staff. Hang tight good people!

We just received an email from the citizenship unit to say that printing of certificates is now outsourced and they are not in the position to post them internationally. In order to complete the printing and issuing of my husband’s certificate, we must provide an Irish address.

I’ve asked if an NI address is acceptable.

Also please ask them when we will get it. It's been a month and they're only starting to print. Jesus Christ.

I will ask them when I get an answer. Apparently the reply I sent last night (using gmail) appeared as blank at their end, so I’ve resent it.

Gosh, if they really do insist on an Irish address and won’t post to addresses in Northern Ireland I imagine that will create a problem for some people.
I’d be happy to pay for international registered mail but they haven’t offered me that option.

Of course an NI address has to be fine, if that is the basis for the application; ie spouse and living on the island of Ireland. However technically shipping between NI and Ireland is an international postal service. What an non-sensical, worrying email to receive.

Sorry just out of curiosity, how did you get to know this? I mean did some staff reply to you this morning saying hi sorry your message last night looks blank at their side? That would be really fast.
